How we rank
Every player gets a projected stat line for tonight: his minutes (a blend of his season, last 10 and last 3 games, with his team's minutes shared out again when teammates are out), times his per-minute rate for each stat (this season blended with last), adjusted for how much of that stat the opponent gives up and for home court. Points, categories and DraftKings all score that same line.
The verdict comes from where he ranks among tonight's players. "Must start" and "Start" are the players a typical 10-team league starts tonight, "Flex" is a fair streaming play, and "Bench" means look elsewhere. Players ESPN lists as out are marked Out; day-to-day players are counted at a 75% chance of playing.
We tested this on the last two full seasons before showing it: it beat each player's own season and last-10 averages by 5%. The full test.
Projections are estimates, not guarantees. Box scores and injury status from ESPN.
